Less than 11 hrs to go but who's counting?

Not that long ago, my friend Kim said to my husband "I was watching this show last night called "Dog Town"... Ever heard of it?"

...and thus began the planning for my 2nd, and Kim's 1st, trip to volunteer at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, UT. It's hard to believe that these past few weeks have flown by so quickly, and now Kim & I will be on our flight to Vegas in less than 11 hrs. Woohoo! I first visited BFAS with another friend, Sheri, in March 2007. It was an amazing, life altering trip for both of us, and I can't wait to share this experience with Kim this week.

I started packing, oh, 2 weeks ago and you'd think I'd be done by this point. I guess I am packed if you consider that my suitcase is about to burst through it's zipper, but realistically I should go UNPACK a few things because it seems like I'm bringing everything but the kitchen sink! And a little sleep would be nice before I getting up at 4am to catch our flight to Vegas.

I hope you'll check back in through the week and read all about the wonderful things that BFAS is doing to "Make the World a Better Place Through Kindness to Animals."

As for me and Kim, well, we promise Norm & Charlie that:

1 - I won't let Kim get tattoos. Whether she can keep me under control, well....!!!
2 - neither of us will bring home any stow away passengers that have fur, paws and/or tails
3 - we won't get lost in the Grand Canyon
4 - and most importantly, despite the absolute BEAUTY of the place we are visitng, we WILL come home on August 12 no matter what job offers we may receive while there!
(Did I mention my toes were crossed when I typed those 4 notes above?!)
Signing off for now,
Karyn & Kim
a.k.a. The 2 K's in Kanab
